Listen Up

This poem was written yesterday (31-01-10) to boost a friend's morale... He's going through a very rough patch and there's absolutely nothing that I can do to help him... except to just be there for him. We all are praying that his troubles vanish away soon. AJ this is for you.

Listen Up

Listen dear friend and heed my words;
Know your own worth at all times.
Don't ever let anyone run you down -
Know that you haven't committed any crimes!

So what if your heart was broken?
So what if things didn't work out?
So what if life took an unexpected turn?
It doesn't mean you are a lout!

Get back up on your feet;
Show them you aren't a quitter!
The whole world is yours to choose from;
You are not a beggar!

Nobody can ever hold you down
Unless YOU allow them to!
Nothing can ever break your spirit
Unless YOU want it to!

So don't be afraid of being hurt again;
Life's too short for regrets and self-pity!
Put your best foot forward - smile, laugh;
Enjoy yourself, have a blast - life's a party!
